Take A Deep Breath - We've Got This

Home buying can frankly be a bit stressful.

At Honest Home Inspection, we are genuinely invested in you having a fear-free, positive experience with the inspection portion of the process.

There are so many reasons you may be buying a home: first-time home buyer, down-sizing after the kids head off to college, moving to a new city for work. Whatever brought you to this house, it’s our job to evaluate its condition for you, so you can make a more informed decision about your purchase.

How Long Does The Inspection Process Last?

An inspection can take on average anywhere from two to four hours, depending on the size and condition of the home.

When Can I Expect My Finished Report?

A link to our detailed, interactive report will be emailed to you within hours of the completion of the inspection.

How Do I Review The Inspection Report With My Inspector?

Due to our COVID-19 policy, we are not, at this time, taking Clients on a walk-through at the property.

We have had great success with sending the finished report to Clients, giving them the time they need to read through once, then joining as soon as possible on a video call to go over the report together.

We can use whichever video call service works best for you!

Agents are welcome to join in on the calls, too, if you wish.

What Is Your COVID-19 Policy?
We have developed inspection protocols based on guidelines from the Minnesota Department of Health, OSHA, and WHO.

Our full State of Minnesota COVID-19 Policy documentation is available for all to read.

The job of Home Inspectors is essentially risk-assessment. We hope that our well-considered precautions give you peace of mind about our ability to analyze a situation for its degree of risk.

Now for the technical side of things:

A general home inspection is a non-invasive, visual examination of the accessible areas of a residential property.

It is based on the observations made on the date of the inspection, and not a prediction of future conditions.

A general home inspection will not reveal every issue that exists or ever could exist, but only those material defects observed on the date of the inspection.

Honest Home Inspection will inspect following items:

  • Roof
  • Exterior
  • Basement, Foundation, Crawlspace & Structure
  • Heating
  • Cooling
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Fireplace
  • Attic, Insulation & Ventilation
  • Doors, Windows & Interior

For more details regarding what a home inspector will inspect, please see the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
